It was four years ago that Sports Illustrated put out an issue proclaiming that the Houston Astros will be done rebuilding and contending for the title in 2017. They have just updated that prediction to now say that 2016 is the year as told in their regional cover featuring Carlos Correa, Dallas Keuchel and Jose Altuve.
A.J. Hinch had some words about his team as they headed to Kansas City after losing an almost “sure win” in game four. Up 6-2 in the top of the 8th inning, the Royals made a comeback to win the game 9-6.
Dallas Keuchel continued his dominance over the New York Yankees with six more scoreless innings as the Astros beat the Yankees 3-0 for a wildcard birth into the 2015 ALDS Playoffs. Both Colby Rasmus and Carlos Gomez scored home runs early and Jose Altuve had a run-scoring single in the seventh inning.
